Parapanda está en Íllora (Granada). Se trata del monte que da nombre a un festival que ha llegado a su vigésima edición desde la más apreciable humildad.
Desde que conozco dicho evento han pasado por él los más ilustres del folk español y alguno internacional. Entre los que a la memoria me llegan están José Ángel Hevia, Carlos Núñez, Faltriqueira, Mercedes Peon, La Musgaña, María del Mar Bonet, Eliseo Parra, Enrique Morente, La banda del Pepo, Al Andaluz Proyect, Hedningarna, y un sinfín de grupos locales y nacionales.
Iniciaré el periplo en 2010 con Carlos Núñez, que vuelve al festival tras su experimento con las músicas brasileñas que plasma esplendorosamente en su último disco. Como siempre Carlos nunca falla, su pasión difícilmente te deja impasible porque saca jugo de todo en cualquier momento. Incluso aquí se acompaña de un músico granadino: Juan Rodríguez, un gaitero del sur, sí señor, no sé como lo ha conseguido, pero toca como los ángeles todo aquello que se puede soplar. Tengo el gusto de conocerlo gracias a un compañero de trabajo (Kiki) que recientemente nos ha presentado, cosa que le agradezco infinitamente. Como se puede observar, el mundo es un pañuelo.
En 2009, la noche fue completa. Al Ándalus Project, grupo formado por artistas de varios países conectados por la música andalusí y sefardí. Forma parte de él nuestra Mara Aranda ex de L’ham de Foc, que no paró en toda la noche de engrandecer dicho evento, dado el estado en que se encuentra nuestra cultura musical en estos momentos y teniendo en cuenta en qué situación se daba dicho concierto.
La banda del Pepo. También en 2009, reconozco que no los conocía. De origen murciano y con reminiscencias a Triana fueron suficientes para quedarse a verlos, cosa de la que no me arrepiento. Son frescos y contundentes, a la vez que comprometidos en sus letras, de las que se encarga el señor Pepo.
Sin duda Parapanda Folk es un evento a seguir, y en tanto en cuanto las circunstancias me lo permitan, siempre estaré allí.
